Massage FAQS
Massage FAQs
Do I have to be fully undressed during the massage?
No, you don't have to be. During the massage you will be draped with a sheet and blanket for modesty and warmth. Only the area of the body being worked on will be exposed and private areas of the body will always be securely covered. You may undress to your comfort level. Some clients prefer to fully undress and some prefer to keep undergarments on. Keep in mind that I can work around undergarments and straps however this will somewhat limit the work performed in the area.
Is massage therapy painful?
Massage therapy should always be performed within your comfort level and should not be painful. Please communicate if you feel any pain or discomfort during your massage. That being said, there are many styles of massage therapy and your session will be designed with your preferences and desired results in mind. Certain massage techniques such as deep tissue work and scraping can feel intense in areas that are tense and some people prefer to experience a high intensity massage in order to achieve enhanced results. This is only by preference/request for deep tissue work and still should only be performed within ones comfort level.
How should I prepare for a massage?
It's best to stay hydrated and avoid eating a heavy meal right before your appointment. Keep mental notes regarding how your body is feeling and any areas of concern to discuss during your pre-massage consultation. If possible, it can be helpful to be warm at the start of your massage such as from a hot shower, bath or sauna.
